Michael Hackman
Michael Hackman is a Certified Specialist in Tax Law as designated by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization program. The Los Angeles attorney first earned, and has since maintained, this certification in 1977.
Mr. Hackman is the Chair of our Firm’s Tax & Estate Planning Practice Group. He represents high-profile business entities and individuals in tax and business succession matters.
As a Los Angeles tax lawyer, Mr. Hackman’s business law Certified Specialist in Tax Law, as designated by the State Bar of California's Board of Legal Specialization.practice focuses on restructuring corporate entities and limited liability companies; and negotiating complex medical facility and hospital sales involving aspects of both commercial and health care law in multi-state transactions.
Mr. Hackman has guided clients through multi-billion dollar transactions – all executed with an eye to the most tax beneficial outcome for the client.

The California estate attorney engenders potential savings in thousands or even millions of dollars for his estate planning clients as well. Mr. Hackman takes advantage of the latest laws in tax, gift planning and trusts, to the benefit of both the clients and their heirs.
Mr. Hackman received his law degree from the University of California at Los Angeles, after being elected to the Order of the Coif and receiving American Jurisprudence Awards in Income Tax, Corporations and Legal Ethics. Following law school, the Los Angeles tax lawyer served for one year as a consultant to the California State Assembly Ways and Means Committee. He has practiced law since 1968, specializing in taxation, business and health care law, and became a Shareholder of our Firm in 1973.
Mr. Hackman is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Connecticut, with a major in economics. In 1964, he received a Masters degree in Business Administration from Stanford University, where the California estate attorney ranked in the top ten percent of his class.
Mr. Hackman has assisted in the preparation of several publications covering health care and is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association. The Los Angeles attorney is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Central District of California. Mr. Hackman is a member of several bar associations and their Tax and/or Estate Planning Sections.
