![]() Leon Lewitt
Leon Lewitt received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ohio State University in 1960, with a major in finance. He received his Juris Doctor in 1963 from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he was designated a member of Master of the Rolls for excellence in academic achievement. In 1969, Mr. Lewitt founded the predecessor to what is now the firm of Lewitt, Hackman, Shapiro, Marshall & Harlan. He has devoted a substantial portion of his professional career to structuring, negotiating and handling mergers, acquisitions and divestitures in a variety of industries, as well as advising health care providers – including hospitals and physicians groups – in addition to handling real estate and general corporate and business matters. He has served on the boards of directors of publicly owned companies. Mr. Lewitt is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California and the U.S. Supreme Court, is a member of various local bar associations, and a member of the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys.
